B.S. Learning Outcomes

The Biomedical 工程 Bachelor of 科学 degree program is accredited by the 工程 认证 Commission of ABET, www.教唆.org, under the General Program Criteria and the Bioengineering and Biomedical and Similarly Named 工程 项目 Program Criteria.

Program Learning Objectives (PLOs)

The Student Learning Outcomes for the Biomedical 工程 Program are:

  1. An ability to identify, formulate, and solve complex engineering problems by applying principles of engineering, science, and mathematics
  2. An ability to apply engineering design to produce solutions that meet specified needs with consideration of public health, safety, and welfare, as well as global, cultural, social, environmental, and economic factors
  3. An ability to communicate effectively with a range of audiences
  4. An ability to recognize ethical and professional responsibilities in engineering situations and make informed judgments, which must consider the impact of engineering solutions in global, economic, environmental, and societal contexts
  5. An ability to function effectively on a team whose members together provide leadership, create a collaborative and inclusive environment, establish goals, plan tasks, and meet objectives
  6. An ability to develop and conduct appropriate experimentation, analyze and interpret data, and use engineering judgment to draw conclusions
  7. An ability to acquire and apply new knowledge as needed, using appropriate learning 策略.

Program 教育al Objectives (PEOs)

Program 教育al Objectives are defined as career and professional accomplishments that are to be achieved within the first few years of graduation.

The Biomedical 工程 Program is designed to produce graduates who are prepared to:

  1. Practice engineering in fields such as design, research, development, testing, quality, and manufacturing;
  2. Engage in lifelong self-directed learning to maintain and enhance professional knowledge 和技能;
  3. Conduct themselves as ethical and responsible professionals as well as articulate the environmental, safety, cultural and economic impacts of their work on society;
  4. Demonstrate competency in fostering communication, collaboration, and coordination among diverse teams, promoting a culture of respect, accountability, critical thinking, adherence to regulations and safety standards, and ethical decision-making.
